1. 1 Cribbage is a card game for 2 players using a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt 6 cards and discards 2 to the "crib" (an extra hand scored by the dealer). A starter card is cut from the deck.
2. 2 In the pegging phase, players alternate playing cards trying to reach exactly 15 or 31 for bonus points, plus points for pairs, runs, and flushes. Cards are played face-up and the running total cannot exceed 31.
3. 3 After pegging, each player scores their 4-card hand plus the starter card for combinations of 15, pairs, runs, and flushes. The dealer also scores the crib. Points are tracked on a cribbage board — first to 121 points wins.
