Xiangqi
Chinese Chess — command generals, elephants, cannons and chariots across the river to checkmate your opponent.
Rules / Config
- Each side starts with 16 pieces: General, 2 Advisors, 2 Elephants, 2 Horses, 2 Chariots, 2 Cannons, and 5 Soldiers.
- Pieces move on intersections (not squares). Generals and Advisors are confined to the Palace (3×3 area). Elephants cannot cross the river.
- Cannons capture by jumping over exactly one piece. Soldiers gain lateral movement after crossing the river.
- Win by checkmating the opponent's General. Stalemate (no legal moves) also counts as a loss.
