Gin Rummy

Gin Rummy

Form melds and reduce deadwood. Knock or go gin to score big.

Rules / Config

  1. Gin Rummy is a two-player card game using a standard 52-card deck. Each player is dealt 10 cards. The goal is to form melds (sets of 3–4 same-rank cards, or runs of 3+ consecutive cards in the same suit) and minimize unmatched "deadwood" cards.
  2. On each turn, a player draws one card (from the stock or discard pile) and discards one. When a player's deadwood totals 10 or fewer points, they may "knock" to end the round. If deadwood is zero, they declare "Gin" for bonus points.
  3. After a knock, the opponent can "lay off" their unmatched cards on the knocker's melds. The knocker scores the difference in deadwood. If the opponent has equal or less deadwood, they score an "undercut" bonus. First to 100 points wins the game.
