Skat

Skat

Germany's national card game. Bid, pick up the skat, and play to win.

Rules / Config

  1. Skat is a trick-taking card game for 3 players using a 32-card deck (7 through Ace). Each player is dealt 10 cards and 2 cards (the Skat) are set aside. Players bid for the right to become the declarer and choose the game type.
  2. The declarer plays alone against the other two players. Game types include Suit games (choose trump), Grand (only Jacks are trump), and Null (declarer must lose every trick). The declarer may pick up the Skat to improve their hand.
  3. Scoring is based on the game type, multipliers, and card points taken (Aces=11, 10s=10, Kings=4, Queens=3, Jacks=2). The declarer must reach 61+ card points to win, or achieve the specific goal of their declared game. Results are tracked over many rounds.
